NO BROW / Popular Culture and Politics in Contemporary Swedish Video Art

Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 7-9pm

In No Brow we take a look at a number of films that approaches the notion of popular culture as an artistic and pedagogical tool. Focusing on the political potential within the work itself, the pieces presented in No Brow address a variety of subjects.

During the evening the curator of the program, Johan Norling, will also present his work at Stockholm based platforms Top Nice and Svarta Hålet.

Participating artists:
Kakan Hermansson, Nadine Byrne, Nicola Bergström Hansen, Roxy Farhat & Simon Mullan.

Johan Norling is based in Stockholm and works as an independent curator. As a member of creative collective Top Nice http://topnice.org/, he works with exhibitions, concerts, festivals and night clubs. He recently also produced “Hos oss” a site specific opera in apartments around Mariatorget in Stockholm, with music by Thomas Jennefelt and libretto by Magnus Florin.
