Artist Talk: Contemporary Printmakers

Award-winning artists Daniel Heyman and Andrew Raftery discuss their work with master printer Brian Garner, founder of the Litho Shop, a fully equipped printmaking studio in Baltimore. Both artists are known for prints that explore the range of the human experience, from portraits of prisoners to people’s private environments. Heyman’s work has been exhibited in major institutions across the country and has been acquired by prominent collections. He is a 2010 Guggenheim Fellow in fine arts and a 2009 Pew Fellowship in the Arts recipient.

Raftery trained in painting and printmaking at Boston University and Yale. His work has been exhibited internationally and is held in many private and public collections. He is currently a Professor of Printmaking at Rhode Island School of Design.
