Visual Arts Cliffhanger: The Sondheim Prize Exhibit of Finalists offers a chance for everyone to get in on the action. by Cara Ober

“The criteria that this year’s esteemed jurors applied to select Stephanie Barber, Louie Palu, Mark Parascandola, Matthew Porterfield, and Rachel Rotenberg seem, at best, convoluted. This year, they selected a confounding range of disciplines and the smallest group of finalists ever. Diverse in every way imaginable, the exhibit is a series of inspired tangents, rather than an expression of movement or direction within the contemporary art world. For this reason, it’s maddeningly difficult to guess which finalist the jurors will choose.”
