Hannah Khalil reimagines the 1,001 Arabian Nights. Instead of centering the typical heroine of the original tale, Scheherazade, Khalil invents a writer’s room for the famous storyteller, providing her with all of her material to distract the murderous king. Five women writers become the new heroines of the story as they work together to liberate themselves from oppression.
