During the three-week run of Rapid Lemon Productions’ regional premiere of Blood of the Lamb the company will present a staged reading of Reclassified by Petula Caesar, at 7:00pm on Tuesday, September 8. The play is an expanded revision of Caesar’s “Shades of Honor,” which appeared as part of Variations on Courage in 2024. Reclassified has also been accepted for presentation as part of the Atlanta Black Theatre Festival. The RLP performance will be its first in the Baltimore area.
On a segregated Army base in 1945, PFC Lee Walters discovers that a key piece of his military record has been altered. What follows is a powerful story of racial passing, identity, and loyalty in a divided nation. The cast is Joshua Allen, Steven Forrester, and Mike Papa.
The performance will be at Strand Theater, 5426 Harford Road, Baltimore, MD 21214. Tickets are general admission, $15, available at www.rapidlemon.org. Rapid Lemon Productions uses paperless ticketing – patrons’ names will be at will call on the date of the performance. A talkback with the playwright will follow.
