Saturday Social: Ikebana Workshop

IA&A at Hillyer
9 Hillyer Court, NW
Washington , DC 20008

An Ikebana Experience Inspired by Pattern & Place exhibition.

Join Tephra ICA and Narcisa Art Studio for a special pop-up ikebana workshop inspired by Pattern & Place, the exhibition featuring regional artists Maryamm Abdullah and Gloria Ann Shows.

Inspired by the exhibition’s exploration of memory, pattern, and a sense of place through ceramics and printmaking, you’ll create a Japanese flower arrangement that reflects a place meaningful to you. It might be a favorite garden, a childhood memory, a quiet trail, or simply a place where you feel most at peace.

Each 45-minute guided session begins with a brief introduction to the Japanese art of ikebana, followed by hands-on instruction as you create your own floral arrangement to take home. No experience is necessary. Just bring your curiosity. Free and open to the public.

Workshop Sessions:

1:00–1:45pm
2:00–2:45pm
3:00–3:45pm
