The Curation Department Exhibition Series Featuring Reginald Lewis | Opening Reception
The Lord Baltimore Hotel will debut a new art exhibition series in partnership with The Curation Department, a creative company known for bringing contemporary artwork into everyday spaces and curating laid-back, accessible art experiences. Hosted in LB Tavern, the series complements the hotel’s Good Taste exhibition series in LB Bistro & Bakery, with both initiatives reflecting the hotel’s ongoing commitment to the arts.
Owned by the Rubell family, internationally recognized for their contributions to the contemporary art world, the hotel continues to expand how guests experience art — from curated exhibitions to a permanent collection of more than 2,500 works displayed throughout the property.
The inaugural exhibition launches June 18 and features Baltimore-based artist Reginald Lewis, whose work spans painting, murals and public art and reflects themes of resilience, creativity and community. Through bold visual storytelling, the exhibition invites guests to engage with contemporary work in a setting that feels natural, social and approachable.
About the Artist:
Reginald Lewis is a Baltimore-based visual artist known for his work in painting, murals and public installations. His artistic journey began in Baltimore City Schools, where he first gained recognition in a citywide Preakness drawing competition — an early moment that shaped his understanding of art’s impact.
A graduate of Morgan State University, Lewis brings a multidisciplinary perspective to his work, informed in part by his background in biology. His work explores identity, culture and possibility, often bridging art and education.
His pieces have been featured in institutions including the Reginald F. Lewis Museum and the Maryland State House, and his murals can be found in Baltimore, Queens and Brooklyn. A mural at the Enoch Pratt Library’s Hamilton Branch stands as one of his most recognized works, encouraging young people to think beyond limitations. His work has also appeared in national platforms, including a Wiz Khalifa music video.
Beyond his artistic practice, Lewis is an active community advocate, collaborating with organizations such as the Baltimore Ravens and Foot Locker to support youth creativity.
