An art exhibition in a driveway is unconventional to say the least, but it makes a little bit more sense when you know that my art studio is a camper van that’s older than me!
I am a Baltimore-based cartoonist/visual artist and I am hosting the titled “Driveway Exhibition” for the second year in a row. The Driveway Exhibition is a DIY art exhibition that takes place in my Grandma’s driveway up the i-83 in Timonium. This year’s event serves as a release party for my first comic “The Ballad of the Dollar Bill Bar Bandit” and a zine project titled “The Yearbook”.
The Ballad of the Dollar Bill Bar Bandit is simply about a bandit who wants to be taken seriously for his work. The Yearbook is the culmination of over two years of collaborative effort, boasting over 200 participants spanning across the US, Mexico, and Canada. One such participant is none other than Baltimore visionary John Waters!
In addition to these literary works, on display will be several new paintings, photographs taken while traveling in my studio camper, and sewn textile works. The whole thing is really a celebration of persevering, self-taught creativity.
If this is sounding eclectic and all over the place, that’s because I am eclectic and all over the place. I would be incredibly honored if BmoreArt provided coverage to such an event and to my practice.
