BmoreArt’s Picks: Baltimore Art Galleries, [...]

Jordan Faye Contemporary & THRIVE in coordination with Full Circle Gallery presented TRUE GRIT, an exhibition that launched their latest program and new exhibition center.

Jonathan Hanson, ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) Baltimore chapter president, curated this collection of works from photographers whose main interest is telling Baltimore’s story from a street level view. With the psyche of a blue collar, hard working, hard living town, Baltimore offers a truly unique urban experience, representations of which echo in the conversation, history, lifestyle, and contemporary self-image of its inhabitants. The true grit of this town is in its shear willingness to keep going. Baltimore can be raw; it can be charming; it can be dangerous. It can also be very, very sweet. TRUE GRIT touchs on the narratives of life in Charm City rather than the iconic and ballyhooed.

Selected artists in TRUE GRIT are Jennifer Bishop, Jim Burger, J.M. Giordano, Jonathan Hanson, Patrick Joust, Brian P. Miller, Natalie Obermaier, John Patterson, Matt Roth, Rebecca Rothey, Noah Scialom, James Singewald, Josh Sinn, David Valle, and Bill Weirzalis.
