Polk Audio Rogue headphones
$99.99 on polkaudio.com

A hundred bucks is not bad for a pair of really nice headphones. Polk Audio is a local Baltimore company and they’ve been making great audio equipment for more than four decades. After doing some local perusing, this set was my favorite in the “under-100” range.

I Used To Be Darker on DVD
$19.08 on amazon.com

I Used To Be Darker was one of my favorite films of 2013 (I know it’s the end of 2014) and local director, Matt Porterfield is certainly one of my favorite local directors. The best part about this flick? There are many, but the music is amazing.

Baltimore Baseball and Barbecue with Boog Powell: Stories from the Orioles’ Smokey Sluger
$19.99 at Atomic Books

The Baltimore Orioles had a very good year and it was exciting for all Baltimoreans, baseball fan or not. Boog Powell was a former Oriole and the owner of Boogs Barbecue, a Camden Yard staple. This book gives you a little of him, a little bit of baseball and a little bit of barbecue, filled with fantastic, heartwarming and funny stories. This would make a great companion piece to John Waters’ new book, Carsick, which you can also get at Atomic Books.
