Although it was mostly rainy for Art Basel Miami Beach week, the outdoor sculptures around the main fair and on the beach were a highlight. Fun, interactive, and often using a giant scale to shift perceptions, these pieces were free to experience and a pleasure to explore, no matter what your income bracket.

The 60th Venice Biennale takes on themes of displacement, environmental injustice, racism, colonialism, but also manages to avoid easy cliches, providing moments of joy and optimism by treating artists from marginalized backgrounds as individuals with agency.
