Closing Reception for Matthew Kern’s photographic installation “Cut Your Own Flowers” at the Laughing Pint Friday August 3rd from 6 to 11. 

Using mostly gelatin silver prints, sizes ranging from 5×7 inches to 16×24 inches, Kern has collaged images from the past 25 years of shooting. The photographs were shot while traveling, such as to Egypt, Cuba and India and others, Rock and Roll, including Modest Mouse, Sonic Youth, Joan Jett and others, and many portaits taken while living in Idaho, Seattle and New York and Baltimore. The exhibition also includes roughly 250 Polaroids of various subject matter and throughout the world. 

Matthew Kern is a recent 2012 recipient of a Maryland State Arts Council individual artist awards for Photography. The Laughing Pint is located in Highlandtown at 3531 Gough Street.
