Art and fashion met at the Walters Art Museum Gala & Party on October 24, 2026, one of Baltimore’s most anticipated cultural nights of the year. This year’s theme, Vibrance, was everywhere. In the Sculpture Court, classical marble and grand architecture glowed under washes of colored light, and Baltimore’s creative community answered the theme with dramatic silhouettes, saturated color, bold accessories, and playful takes on formalwear. Guests began with a cocktail hour, dined at tables set among the museum’s galleries, and kept the party going with dancing late into the night.
The glamour serves a purpose. The Gala is the Walters’ signature annual fundraiser, bringing together more than 500 Baltimore leaders, community partners, and arts supporters. This year’s event set a new record, raising more than $740,000 and topping last year’s record of $670,000. Proceeds support education programs, exhibitions, and conservation, and help keep admission to the museum and its programs free for everyone.

How the Gallery's Business Model is Working for Local Artists and Buyers Alike
The numbers prove that co-owners Kristin Wiebe and Sonny Lacey are doing something right. Since opening, they have shown 41 artists, and in six and a half years, they have paid out $414,000—an average of over $7000 per painter.
Flashback is the first major museum exhibition devoted solely to Baltimore photography. And through an admixture of very old and very recent images, it makes a convincing case that Baltimore has always played an active role in shaping the history of a vital medium.
