BmoreArt is a creative and critical daily online journal. We believe that Baltimore’s creative class deserves to be discussed, critiqued, and well-informed.
This weekend was crazy – with openings at Springsteen, Lil’ Gallery, Penthouse, Guest Spot, Fleckenstein, two at Current, and the Prints and Multiples Fair with additional programming all weekend long, it was difficult to decide where to go and how to fit it all in. As usual, Bmoreart contributors were there to document the good stuff.
Cara: These win the prize for my favorite work at the Prints and Multiples Fair! Cement-cast Big Gulp sculptures with mahogany straws by Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez. Everyone needs one of these. Or two. His prints were affordable and terrific as well.
Lu: Springsteen’s SPF opening was a great way to start an event-filled weekend. It makes perfect sense for the gallery to channel its beckoning bright white glow into exposing the light sensitive works of Steven Riddle and Val Karuskevich. Go soon so you can visit (at least) twice.
