BmoreArt’s Picks: Baltimore Art Galleries, [...]

Bmore Music Picks is a weekly feature that highlights shows, concerts or events to check out in Baltimore and the surrounding area. While it’s not a comprehensive events calendar, our picks are diverse and may highlight jazz, rock, folk, noise, punk, hip-hop, R&B, metal, experimental or just about any other sub-genre or style that helps make Baltimore’s music scene varied and vibrant.

For a more comprehensive events calendar, check out the Culture FlyShow Space, or Weekly.Citypaper.com.

Friday, August 28th – Noches Acusticas: De Sivar y la Mitad del Mundo
Creative Alliance from 9:30-11:30pm – FREE!

Marquee Lounge hosts our monthly Latino music scene!

De Sivar y la Mitad del Mundo performs and grew out of the desire of its members to play and listen to music that theygrew up with from the 90’s to date. The band consists of four musicians native to El Salvador and Ecuador: Geovanny Gaibor on bass, Walter Amaya lead vocals, drummer Fernando Tobias & Luis Tobias on guitar. We proudly want to present Baltimore’s very first rock band in Spanish! Also with them the sexy and romantic voice of local singer Lilian Perez. More info here.

Saturday, August 29th – Future Islands / Beach House / Dan Deacon & many more
Pier Six (Windjammer), 731 Eastern Ave. at 2:30 PM – SOLD OUT

I probably shouldn’t even be suggesting this because it’s sold out and if you don’t have a ticket I’ll just be ruining your weekend. If you can find a way to get your hands on a ticket for Saturday’s Windjammer fest at Pier 6, it’ll be well worth it. Perhaps you can sit harbor-side and listen from across the water?

More info here.
