BmoreArt News: Artscape, iWitness at the Lewis Mu [...]

As we dry off, hopefully with restored power, and reflect on Artscape 2024, we hope you will bask with us in the memory of one of our favorite events of the festival: Project Artscape Fashion Weekend. For this three-day affair, twelve Baltimore-based fashion designers were selected to show off their works.

The event kicked off on Friday with an industry panel discussion featuring The Baltimore Met Gala, Baltimore Fashion Week, and other leading artists and organizations in the city. Following that, six of the designers’ collections hit the runway on Saturday, August 3rd, and the remaining six on Sunday, August 4th at The Garage, 6 E. Lafayette Ave.

“Artscape 40 was a reflection of the vibrancy and resilience of Baltimore and its arts and cultural community,” says Rachel D. Graham, CEO, Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts. “In spite of the weather, people came out to enjoy the festival’s outdoor activations and vendors. We were also excited to see how successful our indoor exhibitions and programming were. Project Artscape has become a staple of the weekend, and it just gets better every year. I think, with the success of this event, we are well on our way to establishing Baltimore as a fashion hub and tourism destination for arts lovers from around the world.”

Whether you missed Project Artscape or want to relive it, we offer these delicious runway photos of the following collections by BmoreArt’s E. Brady Robinson.
